Possible Worlds Film Festivals always delight and the US & Canadian Festival running in August was no exception. A group of CAC members bought tickets from a special Eventbrite link provided by the festival organisers which gave entry to the film and a free drink together in the bar afterwards. On August 8th we saw The Grand Seduction, which some may recall was a french language film a few years ago. This version had been remade in English and starred Brendan Gleeson. It took place in Newfoundland and the scenery was really the star.

This Festival has been running for 9 years now, at first with just Canandian films and in the last 2 years independent, non-mainstream American films have been added. All the way along the Festival has been supported by the Canadian Consulate in Sydney. This year the Consulate organised for video clips of Canadian's experiences in Australia to be run as a short film before the main features. You may remember seeing an item on the the CAC website asking for submissions for this video. For those of you were unable to make the Festival this year here is the link to the video to watch:

Likely we will be organising another event with The Festivalists next year at this Festival. We are looking forward to seeing even more members there!
