Meet the Committee
Each year at the AGM, the members of the club elect a committee to take on the task of managing the club for the following 12 months. These are all voluntary positions and are open to any interested members.

President - Damin Murdock
I was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, but also have lived in the Kawartha Lakes, London (Ont), Calgary and the Netherlands prior to permanently relocating to Australia, with my 10th year anniversary living in Australia this year.
I stumbled into Australia by chance when I married a long-time pen-pal from England who moved here back in the 80’s. Originally from West Van & Kitsalano in Vancouver, I lived in Japan and Vietnam before coming to Newcastle in 1997. I moved to Sydney in 2000 and became an Australian citizen. I’ve been a member since 2004 and I’m looking forward to returning as Treasurer. It is going to be an exciting year!
Events - Katie Zuzek
I was raised in the Grimsby-Beamsville area of the Niagara Region in Southern Ontario, so I am naturally a wine lover. I’ve also lived in Vancouver, St. Kitts & Nevis, the Cayman Islands and a decade in Toronto before moving to Australia. Two and half years ago, I relocated Down Under to marry my Australian husband who has fully embraced the Canadian culture. Colin is a big fan of poutine, enjoys trying to speak some French and even supports the Leafs! We have enjoyed meeting lots of like-minded Canadians this past year in the club and are excited to join the Committee to lend our hands. We look forward to making new friends and offering some interesting, new events this year.
Memberships - Mark Moore
G'day, I'm a Vancouver born Canadian who grew up in Toronto...yeah not the usual direction of travel. Been in Australia now for five years and recently received my permanent residency, love it so I'll be here for a while!
I was born and raised in Ottawa, but I spent my uni years in Halifax, NS where I attended Dalhousie University. Having been in Australia for 7 years now, I find it important to stay connected to Canada, and through the Club I've managed to do that. I've worn a few Committee hats over the past four years, butI've stepped back from President in order to help round up some more volunteers! If you're looking to meet some fun Canucks down under, then volunteering at events is a great way to that!
